Resumen

Las relaciones internacionales sean bilaterales o multilaterales, actúan como eje transversal estratégico de un Estado en el marco del comercio exterior, cuyo objetivo es el beneficio de los Estados partes, con base a la obligación de hacer actividades que respondan a aspectos sujetos de acuerdos como es la actividad económica; de ahí su trascendencia. En el contexto de la actividad económica entre la Unión Europea y Ecuador, recabando información de los informes de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) del 2020 y la Información Económica - Banco Central, se planteó como objetivo determinar las ventajas de la relación bilateral existente para el fortalecimiento del crecimiento económico en tiempos de COVID-19. Con este fin se aplicó una investigación documental, desde la perspectiva del comercio internacional ecuatoriano; evidenciando el crecimiento económico que pese a la pandemia se pudo obtener gracias al Tratado.   Palabras claves: Acuerdo comercial, Unión Europea, aranceles, economía, pandemia.   ABSTRACT International relations, whether bilateral or multilateral, act as a strategic transversal axis of a State in the framework of foreign trade, whose objective is the benefit of the States parties, based on the obligation to carry out activities that respond to aspects subject to agreements such as economic activity; hence its significance. In the context of economic activity between the European Union and Ecuador, gathering information from the 2020 reports of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Economic Information - Central Bank, the objective was to determine the advantages of the existing bilateral relationship to strengthen economic growth in times of COVID-19. To this end, a documentary investigation was applied, from the perspective of Ecuadorian international trade; evidencing the economic growth that despite the pandemic could be obtained thanks to the Treaty.   Keywords: Trade Agreement, European Union, tariffs, economy, pandemic.   JEL CODES E2, F15, F36, O47, F53.
