Se aplicó el método inductivo completo, además se utilizó algunas tipologías investigativas como: exploratoria, descriptiva, explicativa, documental y correlacional, se aplicó el diseño cualicuantitativo no experimental. Se validaron las hipótesis con programa estadístico SPSS-25, se utilizó un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple, para una población de 2489 docentes, obteniendo una muestra de 332. Se aplicó una encuesta con 40 ítems, validada por expertos del área y por el alfa de Cronbach, resultando un coeficiente de 0,976 de factibilidad. Identificando una correlación de 0,960 entre las variables estrés y actividades laborales, asimismo entre las dimensiones sobrecarga laboral (0,930), desgaste emocional (0,915), desequilibrio entre el esfuerzo y la retribución (0,870), y apoyo institucional (0,840), todas en relación a las actividades laborales. <br>Palabras Claves: Estrés laboral, desempeño laboral, docente universitario.<br><br>ABSTRACT <br> The objective of the study is to determine to what extent stress impacts on the work activities of teachers of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in the province of Manabí. The complete inductive method was applied, in addition, some research typologies were used such as: exploratory, descriptive, explanatory, documentary and correlational, the non-experimental qualitative-quantitative design was applied. The hypotheses were validated with the SPSS-25 statistical program, a simple random probability sampling was used for a population of 2489 teachers, obtaining a sample of 332. A survey with 40 items was applied, validated by experts in the area and by Cronbach’s alpha, resulting in a coefficient of 0.976 of feasibility.
